5. Posicionamento Estratégico

Conforme já referido, o Grupo iniciou em 2009 um novo rumo na sua orientação estratégica. Posicionou-se como hol-ding de investimentos e lançou as bases de um processo de centralização da sua actividade na Área Financeira, através da criação de um fundo de Private Equity para o sector não fnanceiro.

Este reposicionamento da estratégia de investimento teve como objectivos principais:

>> Simplifcar a forma como Grupo se apresenta no mer-cado de capitais uma vez que a dispersão e complexi-dade das diversas unidades de negócio limitam o de-sempenho do título Orey em bolsa, reduz a liquidez e a atenção dos analistas, tornando mais difícil a captação de capitais para fnanciar o crescimento;

>> Abrir o investimento a capital externo;

>> Potenciar o know-how de mais de 125 anos do Grupo na área de Transportes & Logística para novos investi-mentos nas áreas geográfcas da Península Ibérica, Bra-sil e Angola.

Este processo de transformação levou a que a holding do Grupo agrupasse os seus investimentos de acordo com a seguinte lógica:

Private Equity

Encontra-se constituído um Fundo, denominado Orey Capital Partners | SCA SICAR, sedeado e regulado no Luxemburgo, que materializa a nova estratégia do Grupo e que agrupa todos os investimentos das actividades não fnanceiras e históricas do Grupo, nomeadamente:

>> Transportes & Logística - Mercado Nacional

>> Transportes & Logística - África

>> Transportes & Logística - Espanha

>> Área Naval e Segurança

>> Área Industrial

5. Strategic Positioning

As mentioned above, the Group made a start in 2009 to a new course in its strategic orientation. It came to be an investment holding company and laid the foundations for a process of centralisation of its business in the Financial Area, through the creation of a Private equity fund for the non-fnancial sector.

This repositioning of the investment strategy had as its main objectives:

>> Simplifcation of the way the Group is presented in the capital market in that the dispersion and complexity of various business units limit the performance of Orey’s shares on the stock market, reducing liquidity and analysts’ attention, and making it harder to attract capital to fund the growth;

>> Opening investment to foreign capital;

>> Leveraging the know-how of more than 125 years’ experience of the Group in the Transport & Logistics area for new investments in the Iberian Peninsula, Brazil and Angola.

This process of transformation led the Group’s holding company to bringing together its investments in accordance with the following reasoning:

A fund has been set up called Orey Capital Partners | SCA SICAR, based in and regulated by Luxembourg, which embodies the Group’s new strategy and groups together all the Group’s historic and non-fnancial businesses investments , namely:
